First, The Safety Framework

Impact play has a real safety framework. Learn it before any hand or paddle hits any body.

Safe zones only. The fleshy areas are safe: butt, upper thighs, upper back. The unsafe zones are: kidneys (lower back sides), spine, neck, head, joints. Stick to the safe zones.

Use a safeword. Green yellow red works fine. Establish before starting. Use it.

Build up gradually. Start light. Build to harder over multiple sessions, not within one session. The receivers tolerance grows over time.

Once hand spanking is comfortable, a soft leather or rubber paddle is the next step. More surface area than a hand. More uniform impact. Available at sex shops for $20 to $40.

Multiple soft tails. Spreads impact across an area. Beginner floggers are made of soft suede. Heavier ones with more impact come later. Floggers are the gateway from hand into TOOLS.

Avoid for at least the first year
Canes, riding crops, anything wooden, anything thin. These have steeper learning curves. They concentrate force in small areas and can break skin if used wrong. Stay away until you have real experience.

How To Actually Start

Negotiate before, not during. What zones are open. Whats off limits. What intensity. What the safeword is. 5 minute conversation. Saves problems later.

Warm up the area. Light pats build into harder ones. Cold start straight to hard impact = bad time. Same as athletic warmup.

Watch for signs. Bruising is normal in impact play. Welts and broken skin are NOT normal for beginners. If you see either, stop and reassess intensity.
