Edge of bed is the position that works for almost every body, every height combo, and almost every mood. The bed becomes a piece of sex furniture and suddenly every angle that was hard on a regular bed becomes trivial.

What It Actually Is

Receiver lies on their back at the edge of the bed, hips right at the edge or slightly off. Partner stands or kneels at the side of the bed, between the receiver's knees.

The simple version is missionary with a height adjustment. The interesting version is what happens when you start moving the receiver's legs around.

Five Leg Variations

Each one changes the angle and depth significantly.

Knees up to her chest

Receiver pulls both knees toward their own chest. Partner is between them. Deepest angle on the list. Hits internal spots most other positions miss. Save this for when she is already warmed up.

Legs straight up in the air

Receiver's legs straight up, ankles together. Partner stands close. Creates a tight grip sensation for both partners. Different angle than knees-up.

Legs over his shoulders

Receiver's calves rest on the partner's shoulders. Partner leans forward slightly. Deepest version of all. The visual is intense and the angle is unique.

One leg up, one leg down

One leg over the partner's shoulder, one leg flat on the bed. Lopsided angle that hits different spots than symmetric versions. Most underrated variant.

Both feet flat on the bed, knees bent

Basic missionary but the receiver controls hip rocking. Slower, more grinding. Great for clitoral pressure.

Bed height matters way more than people realize. If your bed is too low, the partner is crouching uncomfortably. Stack a folded blanket under the partner's knees if standing, or use a sturdy pillow under the receiver's hips to lift the angle.

Common Mistakes

Wrong bed height

Bed should be roughly at the standing partner's hip height. Too low = crouch. Too high = bad angle. Adjust with a thick pillow under the receiver's hips if needed.

Skipping the warm-up

Legs-over-shoulders is intense. Start with feet-flat-on-bed missionary. Build up to the deeper variations.

Standing partner locking knees

Locked knees go numb in five minutes. Soft knees, slight bend. Or kneel on the floor with knees on a folded blanket.
